Rs 331 crore cash, 225 lakh litre liquor, 1.85 lakh kg drugs seized

New Delhi: The Election Commission released data showing that over Rs 331 crore in cash was seized during the polls. The EC also seized 225 lakh litre liquor and 1.85 lakh kg drugs.
This election season, Andhra Pradesh tops the list of the highest cash recovery, followed by Karnataka and Maharashtra.
1.39 lakh kgs of drugs were found in Punjab alone followed by Uttar Pradesh with 24000 kgs of drugs seized.
The Election Commission also mentioned that the total number of FIRs registered this election season were 13, 462. Many flying squads and static surveillance teams were deployed in these elections.
