Nayeem suspected for Ramulu murder
Hyderabad: The Nalgonda police on Monday picked up few suspects in connection with the murder of former Maoist and TRS leader K. Ramulu.
According to the cops, the murder was the handiwork of renegade Naxal don Nayeemuddin, alias Nayeem. Four motor vehicles abandoned at the function hall are found to have been used by the assailants.
Nalgonda superintendent of police T. Prabhakar Rao said, “We are verifying the ownership of the vehicles. The ownership appears to have been changed. We are questioning the owners. They can even be fake registration number,”
He added, “The murder is the handiwork of Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem. There was rivalry between both of them over dominance in the area. Both were involved in real estate settlements and saw each other as a threat. Though Ramulu was no match for Nayeem, the gangster felt threatened and eliminated him through hit men. We have to identify who executed the killing.”
The Maoist leader was shot dead at Baig Function Hall in Nalgonda town on May 11.
