Nazriya Nazim’s next in Tamil
Nazriya’s Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah, a much-awaited Tamil film that has been in the making for more than two years, will finally release on May 15. As the title suggests, the film is a love story between two youngsters who hail from different religions. According to director Anis, the delay was due to his wanting to shoot a few rituals on festival days and add in the movie.
“I went to Kozhikode during Ramzan and shot the entire Muslim crowd there. Also, in Chennai, I went to places like Royapettah, Nanganallur and Mylapore during other festivals,” he says. “The film is a youthful love story meant for family audiences. It’s more like Kadhalukku Mariyadhai and Kadhal Kottai,” he adds. What’s more, the entire crew went vegetarian when they shot a sequence portraying a Brahmin family and ate biriyani when they shot a sequence involving a Muslim family. The director is happy with the way the music of the film, composed by Gibran, has been received.
