IPL 7: No choice but to play positive cricket, admits Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj’s all-round show went in vain as RR beat RCB in Bangalore

Bangalore: On the brink of being ousted from playoffs' contention, Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Yuvraj Singh on Monday said his team has no choice but to play positive cricket in their remaining five games to have any chance of being inside the top-four.

"We have no choice. In next four to five games it is tough for us. We have to go in and be positive and go ahead play good cricket," he told reporters in Bangalore.

Yuvraj, who scored a hurricane 83 in 38 balls against Rajasthan Royals in the last match, said Bangalore have potential to win without much worrying about the remaining games. "We think we have the potential to win, but we are not thinking of four or five games at a time, but take game one by one as it comes," he said.

Replying to a query, Yuvraj expressed hope that Bangalore would do better playing at home. "We are all aware in IPL games, you don't have much time. If we are travelling, it is tough to recover. Good thing is that we are playing at home, so hopefully we do better," he said.

Talking about losing the game to Rajasthan Royals from a winning situation, Yuvraj said the bowlers did not perform well in the death overs and gave away 65-odd runs in the last four overs. "We lost because we gave away 65 runs in 24 balls. Also, we did not bowl well at the death. Did not bowl yorkers well. Faulkner and Smith are very dangerous players. They got the balls over the line. So, it was unfortunate, we couldn't bowl even one good over," he said.
