National Award winning dancer held for molestation
New Delhi: National Award winning dancer Guru Syed Sallauddin Pasha, who also holds a Guinness Book of World Record, was arrested here today for allegedly molesting a woman who teaches at his wife's dance centre, police said. Pasha was arrested here this afternoon from his house in Madhu Vihar area in East Delhi.
The choreographer's wife, who is herself a renowned Kathak dancer, has also filed a separate complaint of domestic violence, attempt to murder and abatement to suicide. Although both these cases have been registered at Madhu Vihar police station, Pasha has for now been arrested only for molestation and wrongful restraint filed by the woman.
The complainant, who is separated from her husband, has claimed that she had accompanied Pasha to meet a sponser in Daryaganj area some days ago and on the way back, he molested her in the car.
"She also claimed that Pasha has been sexually abusing some of his female students," a police official said.
The complainant had informed Pasha's wife about it soon after the incident, following which she approached the police. Pasha had won the National Award for empowering persons with disabilities and holds the Guinness Book of World Record for creating 100 dance theatre productions and 10,000 performance by persons with disabilities across the world.
