Hyderabad visit is God’s gift: Sushant Singh

Actor Sushant Singh visited the city to watch his first-ever live IPL match

Savdhan India host Sushant Singh was in Hyderabad to witness his first live match, between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, on Monday. He also presented the “Kanna Keep Calm” award to the player who kept his cool during the match. “It’s a great feeling. They are all big celebrities present on the ground. I feel this is God’s gift, something that has fallen on my lap,” he says.

Sushant says that he has some lovely memories from Hyderabad. “After Mumbai, this is the most familiar place for me. My wife and I enjoy the delicious food and can’t resist the golden fried prawns and Hyderabadi biryani here. I have been to many places in the city like Meena Bazaar, Charminar and Golconda Fort. The city has an amazing historical connection.”

“Wherever I go, I step into a local theatre to watch a movie with the crowd and get their perspective. A long time ago when I was in Hyderabad I did the same and during the interval, a few youngsters recognised me and we spoke at length. Later they dropped me to my hotel room and gave a small city tour. That’s when I came to know of the beautiful Necklace Road and was thrilled.”

Since the actor was in the city for an IPL match, we asked him about his love for cricket. He replies, “I love the game but I must admit I can’t play cricket. My first experience was the worst experience. When I was in Class I, my friends gave me a heavy bat and we were playing with a real cork ball. I had clearly instructed them to throw the ball gently as I don’t know how to play the game. But then they threw a bouncer and it broke my nose.

That’s when I gave up on cricket.” The actor, who will be seen in the upcoming movie Dirty Politics, has done many Bollywood movies like Samay, Yeh Saali Zindagi and Legend of Bhagat Singh among others. He has also acted in Tollywood films like Daruvu, Haripriya Thufan, Dubai Seenu and more.
