Movie review Pyaar Mein Padipoyaane: No ‘Pyaar’ in the movie

The second half with some good music saves the film

Cast: Aadi, Shanvi, Vennela Kishore, Kasi Viswanath
Director: Ravi Chavali
Rating: Two and a half star

Aadi and Shanvi play the lead pair in Pyaar Mein Padipoyaane that was released on Saturday. The film is directed by Ravi Chavali. This is Aadi and Shanvi’s second film together as a lead pair.

Chandra (Aadi) is an aspiring music director who is working on an album. He falls in love with Yuktha (Shanvi), an aspiring singer. Both join hands for the album.

In the meantime, Chandra comes to know that both he and Yukta were childhood friends. He wants to remind her about the childhood friendship but stops when he comes to know that she hates that childhood ‘friend’ because he had spoilt a camera that had precious pictures of her mother.

Chandra tries a few tricks to make Yuktha forget about the incident but is not successful. Finally how he impresses Yuktha and wins her back is the crux of the story.

Director Ravi Chavali has taken an old subject and also narrated it in an old style. There is no freshness in this love story and it just drags on in most of the scenes.

The story is predictable and except a few laughs here and there, the film has hardly any substance. He is unable to show an interesting chemistry between the lead pair.

Aadi has improved from film to film. His dances are very good and he has done his part decently. He looks fresh in the film. Shanvi looks good and she fits the character perfectly. She has a bright future. Vennela Kishore’s gay scenes are not impressive. Sapthagiri and Thagubotu Ramesh entertain in couple of scenes.

The second half of this movie is better than the first half. The music is good, a few songs are interesting and the photography is also nice.

PMP is a clean film without any double meaning dialogues and vulgarity. You can watch it for time pass.
