Apple hires Nokia camera designer

Ari Partinen, Nokia’s former Lumia Photography lead, to join Apple in June

Nokia has been known for their proficient cameras since the Lumia series of smartphones.

ArsTechnica reported that former Lumia Photography lead Ari Partinen, who was known for his work on the Proview cameras, confirmed on twitter about his last working day with the Lumia Family and is moving ahead to join Apple from June.

Though ArsTechnica thinks that the move won’t alter Apple’s direction, but the similar post given to Ari states that the company’s iPhone and iPad series will now possibly have better cameras.

Well, the next iPhone will definitely not sport the Lumia-style cameras. Large sensors, optical stabilizers and big flash is what makes a phone thicker and Apple has been known to have the camera and the rear panel flush together to cater to the aesthetics. Lumia cameras usually protrude and Apple does not like that type of designs, and prefers smooth rear panels. More information would come in once Ari starts work.
