‘Suicide Bomber’ may attack Modi in the upcoming rallies
Varanasi: Narendra Modi could be the target by a ‘human bomb’, in an attempt to assassinate the BJP prime ministerial nominee. The Intelligence Bureau has issued a specific alert alarming for a possible attack, which could be on the lines of the one on the former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.
The input by the agencies states that a suicide bomber, being a part of the rally as a supporter, might target him. It also states that the attempt is likely to be in Varanasi and Vadodra, Modi’s own constituencies.
After the National Investigation Agency (NIA) picked up messages from the social networking websites and phone call intercepts, they issued a red alert regarding a threat to Modi’s life. A red alert has previously been issued immediately after he was declared BJP’s PM candidate.
The security agencies are tracking various members of the organizations such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, Indian Mujahideen and SIMI.
The security has been spruced up in all the areas where Modi is going to conduct rallies by deploying maximum manpower in the same regions.
