Telangana Congress Sridhar Babu says K Chandrasekhar Rao will lose at Gajwel
Hyderabad: In a counter attack on the TRS, former minister and senior Telangana Congress leader D. Sridhar Babu said TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao will lose the election in Gajwel Assembly segment in Medak district.
The TRS senior leaders on Sunday said that all the Telangana Congress leaders who are aspirants for the CM’s post will be defeated. Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah held a district-wise meetings with party leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday.
After the meeting, Mr Sridhar Babu expressed confidence that the Congress will form the government in Telangana. He said the Congress will get majority seats and if necessary they will take the help of the CPI and the CPM to form the government.
Speaking to the media, Mr Laxmaiah questioned why the TRS leaders are consulting the MIM for support if they are confident of winning 90 Assembly seats as told by their party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Mr Lakshmaiah also sounded confident that the Congress will get majority seats and form the government.
Meanwhile in the Warangal district meeting Union Minister Balaram Naik and Narsampet candidate Katti Venkata Swamy came to verbal attack on each other. Katti Venkata Swamy complained to Telangana PCC Chief Ponnala that many congress leaders in the district did not cooperated to him in the elections. Reacting to this Union Minister Balaram Naik alleged due to Venkata Swamy he lost 30 thousand votes.
In the district wise meetings Telangana PCC Chief Ponnala collected the information over the assessments on Telangana elections about how many seats that the congress is going to win in their districts. But the assessments of district congress leaders were different from ground level situation.
For example in Warangal and Karimnagar districts the hot bed for Telangana movement congress will win 12 assembly seats out of 25 and it has edge in two more seats. TRS will win 7 assembly seats and it has edge in three more seats according to congress leaders belong to both districts.
In Narsampet assembly segment independent candidate Donti Madhava Reddy (congress rebel), in Korutla independent candidate J Narasing Rao (Congress rebel) and in Ramagumdam assembly segment also independent candidate (Congress rebel or TRS rebel) will win.
Meanwhile Telangana PCC President asked the congress leaders to give a report on who did not work for the congress party in the elections in their districts. He said that party will take action against those who did not worked for the party in the elections.
Ponnala said on 10th May he will hold meetings with MP, MLA candidates and contested ZPTC candidates. The state election commission will take up counting of votes on 11th and 12th May in the local body elections which were held recently. The Congress leaders will discuss about the party candidates for Municipal chair persons and Zilla Parishad Chair person posts.
