ISI upset as IM fails to strike during Lok Sabha polls?

ISI upset over failure to eliminate any top politician during election campaign

New Delhi: Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is believed to be extremely upset and has severely reprimanded Indian Mujahideen founders Riyaz and Iqbal Bhatkal, as well as Hafiz Saeed, chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, for their failure to eliminate any top Indian politician during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

The Bhatkal brothers stay and operate out of Karachi under direct ISI supervision.

This startling revelation has been made by a top IM operative, Faizan Ahmed Sultan, during custodial interrogation, to the NIA as well as Central intelligence agencies. Sultan was deported from Sharjah last week.

Sultan, who is said to be a close associate of IM’s former India chief, Yasin Bhatkal, was one of the main fundraisers for the terror outfit in the Gulf region. He was also responsible for organising logistical support for IM operatives. NIA sources said Faizan had arranged travel documents for many IM cadre for travel from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and, Saudi Arabia.

Since Sultan, intelligence sources claimed, had been closely associated with Yasin Bhatkal, he had access to tremendous information regarding the functioning of the IM.
