Namitha Pramod guided by the shining stars
Kochi: With her elfin charm and luxurious tresses, not to mention her talent, Namitha Pramod has managed to hold her own against stars like Dileep and Kunchacko Boban in the films she has acted in. The young girl has been lucky to have shared screen space with top stars as well as established directors and she is continuing her good run with the next film Vikramadityan opposite Dulquer and Unni Mukundan.
There is something definitely different about her face, it is probably the sparkle from her nose ring. Namitha confesses, “I had my nose pierced for Vikramadityan, in which I play a Konkani girl who goes by the name Deepika Pai. I speak Konkani in this film.”
Namitha has mostly been working with senior stars and it is after a gap that she is working with actors closer to her age like Dulquer and Unni in the Lal Jose directed film. She mentions about the working experience, “There is absolutely no ego at play on the sets and both of my co-stars are very easy going!”
She cheekily quips, “In fact, I have the upper hand here because I have worked with Lal Jose before and they haven’t!” Namitha had been a part of the Lal Jose-starrer Pullipullikalum Aatinkuttiyum.
Namitha is happy with the way her career is shaping up and says, “I feel so happy that I was introduced with Sathyan uncle’s film as the heroine! When I act with established actors, it reflects in my work too. During my initial days, I used to get valuable tips from Sathyan uncle, who I consider my guru, and from Nedumudi uncle too. I was like a piece of clay that was moulded with their advice and acting tips.”
Her recent film Law Point is a legal thriller and she is satisfied with the response to the film. She reveals, “The script that Lijin gave me was very clear and I had the script with me a month before, making it easy to get into the skin of the character Maya.”
The young girl shifted base to Kochi after completing her Class XII. Asked about her future plans, Namitha says, “I plan to do my B.A. in Sociology with Communicative English. But my professional options keep changing every week.”
