Mahindra and Mahindra to develop 6 engines for HSUV
Hyderabad: With a motive to increase their presence in the High-end Sports Utility Vehicle (HSUV) category, Mahindra and Mahindra along with its recently acquired company SsangYong is planning to develop a series of six engines, which would be out in two to three years.
Speaking at the launch of a new model of Rexton on Monday, Arun Malhotra, chief sales and customer care officer, automotive division, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said, “M&M is going to launchan Indianised engines along with research and development engineers of SsangYong and Mahindra.”
The third edition of Rexton model, ‘RX6’, which was launched on Monday is loaded with features like manual transmission and is priced at Rs 20.11 lakhs (ex-showroom Hyderabad). This model will bridge the gap between the existing models of Mahindra, which is RX5 and RX7.
