Jagan Mohan Reddy slams ‘opportunistic’ Naidu

Jagan, came down heavily on Chandrababu, calling him someone who would lie to get power

Ongole: YSR Congress president, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, while campaigning in Kanigiri on Sunday, continued his attack on Telugu Desam president, Chandrababu Naidu, terming him the worst liar and the most opportunist politician of all times.

Addressing a public meeting, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, came down heavily on Mr Naidu, calling him someone who would lie and deceive the public to get power. He said, “Our state budget is Rs 1,25,000 crore, but Naidu has promised annulment of Rs 1,50,000 crore-worth loans which is impossible.” He alleged that Mr Naidu was asking the public to vote for BJP’s Narendra Modi, which was a betrayal to the Telugu community as Mr Naidu had insulted Telugu pride by bowing before Mr Modi.

He appealed to the public to vote for the party that would protect the Telugu community and further, for the pride of the Telugus.

Analysing speeches of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Mr Naidu, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the duo were deceiving the Seemandhra public with their dual statements in support of the state’s division in Telangana and against Telangana formation in Seemandhra.

He asked the public to cleanse murky politics by electing leaders who would serve the public with credibility. He alleged that some leaders were trying to damage YSRC but people still supported Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy even five years after of death, hence no one could damage the party.

“I have inherited from YSR the quality of not going back on my word, while Mr Naidu is known for not keeping his promises,” he said.

He also assured to complete the pending Veligonda project to quench the thirst of the people of Prakasam.

Stating that his party could elect a prime minister of its choice if it got 25 MP seats, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy promised that he would work for the development of residuary AP with the help of the prime minister of the party’s choice.

He pointed out that the next three days were crucial and people should choose their fate with their voting power.

“Elections are fast approaching and you have to make up your mind and choose between jumping jacks like Mr Naidu, who has aligned with every party for the sake of votes/seats, and the legacy of YSR that is being carried forward by the YSRC,” he said.
