BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and actor-turned-politician Pavan Kalyan spearheaded the election campaign of TDP-BJP combine, while Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi campaigned for their party.

Polling for the 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra is scheduled to be held on May seven and the main contest is between TDP-BJP combine and YSRCP.

"I have the vision and experience to build the new state from the scratch. I would work like a 'coolie' for the rapid and comprehensive development of the new state," he said.
He promised to appoint two deputy chief ministers, one belonging to Kapu community and another hailing from backward classes, if the TDP is voted to power.
Pavan Kalyan, who emerged as a star campaigner for the TDP-BJP combine, highlighted the way Congress divided the state and how TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao allegedly insulted Seemandhra.
He also wondered why Jaganmohan kept silent when TRS president allegedly attacked Seemandhra continuously and how come he now stakes claim for the post of Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Jaganmohan Reddy promised to ensure welfare of various sections by promising to make "five signatures" on major promises, which includes depositing Rs 1,000 in a mother's account for the education of two children, hiking old age pension from Rs 200 to Rs 700, setting up a market stabilisation fund for the benefit of farmers and loan waiver for self-help group women.
