Andhra Pradesh boy tops JEE with 355 score
Second highest score was also bagged by a student from Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: Nellore boy Vakacharla Pramod, a student of Narayana Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy, created a record by topping the JEE (Main) at national level this year. The results were released on Saturday.
Mr Pramod, a native of Sullupurpet, secured the highest score of 355 marks out of 360. The second highest score, of 350 marks, was also bagged by a student from AP, Md. Akram Khan, from Luxettipet in Adilabad district. Both are students of Narayana Sri Chaitanya group in Vijayawada and hope to get admission to IIT-Bombay after clearing the JEE (Advanced).
The online registration for JEE (Advanced) will begin from May 4. Those selected in JEE (Advanced) must also figure in the “top-20 percentile list” in respective 10+2 board exams to be eligible for final admission in IITs. Over 1.22 lakh students from the state appeared for JEE (Main) on April 6.
Telangana fares poorly in Intermediate exams
Telangana districts fared badly in the Intermediate second year results released on Saturday. Barring Ranga Reddy, all the remaining nine T districts secured results much below the state average of 66 per cent.
Incidentally, two Telangana districts namely Medak and Adilabad recorded lowest pass percentage of 49 each. On the other hand, 8 out of 13 Seemandhra districts secured more than the state average pass percentage.
