Chennai: The pooja ceremony for Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa was held at Chamundeshwari Temple, Mysore, on Friday morning. The event was attended by Rajinikanth, K.S Ravikumar, Kannada actor Ambareesh, his wife and actor Sumalatha, producer Rockline Venkatesh, and others.
Clad in a white shirt and veshti, Rajini looked young and his hairstyle resembled the character he essayed in Sivaji. The twirly moustache gave him the aristocratic look, which was more than enough for his fans to exult over.
The shooting of Lingaa will commence from Saturday at Mysore, a place where many blockbuster films of the Superstar were shot. According to sources, the crew will shoot in Mysore for around 40 days and will move to Hyderabad for the second schedule.
Bollywood sensation Sonakshi Sinha is foraying into the south with this movie. The excited actress tweeted, “Back in Boms, I miss new york, am properly jet lagged and tomorrow im off to Mysore for my first Tamil film... What a week its been :)”
The Bengali beauty is also acting in the Hindi remake of Thuppaki. It was earlier reported that Anushka Shetty would play another heroine in the film and Jagapathi Babu would essay a pivotal role. The latest we hear is that Santhanam is also likely to be roped in by K.S. Ravikumar in the mythological flick.
Rumours are also rife that Sudeep of Naan Ee fame has been approached for a role. K.S. Ravikumar had plans to do a film with Sudeep in the lead in Kannada before committing to Lingaa.
