IPL 7: Coach Stephen Fleming credits seam bowlers for Chennai Super Kings' run
Ranchi: Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming is hopeful that the team would continue their good run as the tournament moves to India from Friday.
“It feels good to be back, we had a great experience here at the Champions League Twenty20 where we won each of our three games last year, so we’re pretty familiar with the surroundings. Obviously the skipper has strong connections with this city. And we really enjoyed our time here last time. Hopefully our form in this ground continues,” said Fleming.
Bowlers Mohit Sharma and Ishwar Pandey have been in good form and Fleming lavished praise for the pace duo.
“We are very happy with what he’s done so far. Ishwar comes from a slightly higher level to start with, by that I mean he’s already been recognised by the Indian selectors. He is new to our franchise, but so far he has been excellent. I think the seam bowling was one of the reasons why we won four games in the UAE. So, we’re very happy with the whole lot,” he added.
Fleming is also pleased with the performance of his top-order. “It has certainly given us good balance as a result of which we’re able to use our overseas power at the top of the order,” he said.
