Priyanka Chopra's journey to stardom to be revealed in a film by ex-lover Aseem Merchant
Mumbai: A new film will be made based on the life of Priyanka Chopra, highlighting her initial years in Bollywood. Priyanka’s former lover Aseem Merchant who had gone missing in action from Bollywood is now back and has launched his own production house, Limelight Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd, and its first film will be based on Priyanka Chopra’s early days in Bollywood, Mumbai Mirror reported.
According to reports Aseem describes his film as a ‘biopic of Priyanka’s ex-manager Prakash Jaju’. Priyanka and her manager had fallout in 2004, which was followed by Jaju’s arrest. He faced 67 days imprisonment in 2008.
According to reports, Jaju claimed the actress owed him a huge sum of money and refused to clear his dues. Jaju made matters worse after interfering in the stars personal life. After this , her father (late) Dr Ashok Chopra filed an FIR against her former manager, stating that he was not only making false allegations against his daughter but also threatening the family members. Jaju then went into hiding and was arrested from Madhya Pradesh.
Aseem and Priyanka were acquainted with each other since her days as a model. They were in a relationship when she won the title of Miss World in 2000. Two years later, they parted ways.
Aseem said the film will depict everyone who interacted with Jaju while he was working with Priyanka. According to the report, Aseem and Jaju have been in contact with each other for more than a decade.
When asked if this move to make a film like this would upset the actress, Aseem said, “My association with Priyanka is long over. I have started a company to make films. My second film may upset someone else.”
