Mumbai: Filmmaker Amole Gupte’s father Sudhakar Laxman Gupte passed away on May 1. His shooting schedule for ‘Singham 2’ with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor has been postponed due to the unfortunate incident, and all promotional activities for his film ‘Hawaa Hawaa’ which is set to release next week have been cancelled, Absolute India reported.
“This is a big blow to both Amole and Partho. Both father and son were deeply attached to Amole’s father. They are in no condition to go ahead with the promotional activities,” a source close to the filmmaker said.
Most severely affected are the series of motivational lectures that Amole had planned with principals of schools across the country. It is said that the idea was to address principals of schools on the importance of letting youngsters develop their special skills rather than forcing them into pre-decided aspirations by others.
Amole’s previous film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ was also based on a similar idea.
According to the report, all lectures stand cancelled. The most immediately affected was a lecture scheduled for May 2 in Lucknow.
