CBI will probe into alleged irregularities in the allocation of Talabira blocks to Birla

New Delhi: The CBI which at the request of former coal secretary P.C. Parakh had postponed his questioning in connection with the agency’s probe into the alleged irregularities in the allocation of Talabira II coal block to Hindalco in late 2005, has now served him fresh summons for examination on May 1.
The CBI on October 15, 2013 had booked industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla — chairman of the Aditya Birla Group — and Mr Parakh, for alleged irregularities in the allocation of Talabira blocks to his (Birla) private firm Hindalco in 2005
