Sarve rides on Telangana wings, banks on his service

Sarve Satyanarayana predicted a big win for himself in Telangana

Hyderabad: Union minister of state for roads, highways, transport and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Congress nominee, Sarve Satyanarayana on Monday predicted a big win for himself and other Congress candidates in Telangana in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls thanks to party president, Sonia Gandhi, granting statehood to the region.

“I am confident of achieving Mission 5 lakh (win Malkajgiri seat by a 5 lakh margin). There is no competition to me from rivals. Telangana people are grateful to Mrs Sonia Gandhi for giving Telangana. I am sure they will support a secular Congress in a big way,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
The Congress Malkajgiri Lok Sabha nominee, who undertook whirlwind electioneering in Qutbullapur and Kukatpally Assembly segments of his LS constituency, explained to the people that but for Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s firm stand, Telangana would never have been a reality.

“Mrs Sonia Gandhi kept the T promise. Congress ensured protection to life and properties of Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. Congress developed the nation and state in all spheres during its rule,” he told the gathering.
He said that his rivals, Telugu Desam-BJP nominee Malla Reddy, YSRC candidate and former DGP V. Dinesh Reddy, TRS candidate Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and Lok Satta’s Jayaprakash Narayan were no match to him in social service.

“Mr Malla Reddy is not a politician and has no worthwhile record of social service. He built engineering colleges on his forefathers’ land and made tons of money. Mr Dinesh Reddy was the top cop but he is new to politics. Mr Hanumantha Rao is a turncoat who dumped the Telugu Desam, Congress and joined the TRS in a span of 24 hours, while Mr Jayaprakash Narayan of Lok Satta failed as an MLA. I have a clean record as a politician and in social service,” he said.

Mr Satyanarayana also said that due to the clean record of his colleagues in the Assembly segments, his win would be easier.
“I am a Dalit and all my opponents in major parties are from upper castes. I came from a downtrodden family and know the agony, needs and pulse of the people,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
