Lakshma gets all-round boost in his constituency

Observers noted that Mr Lakshma Reddy was getting support from all communities
Hyderabad: In a major boost to his winning prospects ahead of the April 30 elections, over 2,000 members from the Goud community led by their local leaders joined the Congress in the presence of Bandari Lakshma Reddy, the party candidate from the Uppal Assembly constituency.
They assured Mr Lakshma Reddy that they would not only campaign for him but also ensure his victory.
Minorities, mainly from the Muslim community, have already extended their support to Mr Lakshma Reddy on the basis of his secular credentials. On Sunday, he was blessed by a pastor in a church.
Mr Lakshma Reddy is the brother of Uppal sitting legislator Bandari Raji Reddy. Both Mr Raji Reddy and Mr Lakshma Reddy are popular among the voters as “Ram and Laxman” of Uppal. Observers noted that Mr Lakshma Reddy was getting support from all communities.
Mr Lakshma Reddy starts his campaign early in the morning and seeks votes in the name of development. Unlike other candidates in the fray, he focuses on the development plank and does not waste much time criticising his opponents.
The Congress candidate is promising improvement of civic amenities like roads, improvement of water supply and underground drainage system and quality power supply.
On Monday, he will be taking out a rally from Chakripuram near Kushaiguda that will pass through various colonies and slums in Uppal constituency. A source said that over 30,000 people are expected to participate in the rally.
