Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Sunday notified all contesting political parties and candidates to refrain from all types of campaigning and publicity from 4 pm on April 28 to 6 pm on April 30 (polling day) in phase-I constituencies.
The publicity includes telecast of advertisements in the electronic media, that is TV channels and radio, and also road shows and campaigning. “National parties which campaign through the electronic media across the country should refrain from doing so.
The Election Commission’s monitoring committee will keep a strict watch on this and appropriate action will be taken,” said Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal. Phase I election in the state is being held in Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar, Mahbub-nagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizambad, Warangal, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts.
