Anjan gets the work done
Hyderabad: Cine glamour was an added attraction in Anjan Kumar Yadav’s election campaign on Sunday in Manikeshwarnagar, Warisguda and other parts of Secunderabad.
Flanked by film actress Jayaprada and Secunderabad sitting MLA Jayasudha Kapoor, Mr Yadav was given a rousing welcome by voters as his campaign vehicle passed through the lanes and bylanes of Secunderabad.
“Anjanna, we are with you and we will ensure that you win this time. We will create a new record in terms of majority votes in the city. You are a leader with a clean image and secular credentials. Telangana needs leaders like you,” said an enthusiastic M. P. Varma, a local resident of Manikeshwarnagar as he garlanded Mr Yadav, the Congress candidate for the Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency.
Mr Yadav said that no power can stop him from victory for the third time in a row. “My work for development of roads, improvement of the drainage system, replacement of pollution prone drinking water pipelines, construction of electricity sub-stations for quality power supply stand as testimony to my commitment to the people,” he said.
Local residents said Mr Yadav can be approached any time without an appointment. “Unlike others, Anjanna does not make you run around his office or make false promises. If he says something, he will do it. He has given from his pocket lakhs of rupees for the development of temples, mosques, churches, graveyards and for feeding the poor in temples. Anjanna is a living example of promoting ganga jamuna ki tehzeeb , living in religious harmony,” said Arjun Yadav, a supporter, and Mohammed Iqbal agreed.
Mr Yadav was greeted with thunderous applause in Warisguda when he said, “Congress ka haath, ghareebon ke saath (Congress is always for the welfare of the poor). I appeal to all voters to strengthen the hands of a secular party like the Congress to defeat communal forces. We don’t want communal politics. We want good education for our children, jobs for them and development of the family, city, state and the entire country. And, only the Congress can deliver it,” he said.
