Girl goes to watch TV, raped
Hyderabad: A truck driver allegedly raped a six-year-old distant cousin in his house at Hayathnagar on Saturday.
The accused J. Srinivas, 26, overpowered the girl and sexually assaulted her when she came to watch TV in his house. The victim was rushed to the hospital as she started bleeding heavily. Srinivas fled after the victim’s parents confronted him. Hayath-nagar police started an investigation after booking a case.
On Saturday, the victim living in in Balaji-guda village, was alone as her parents went to work. “She goes to watch TV in Srinivas’ house. On Saturday at around 12.30 pm, when she went to his house, no one else was there present and he committed the crime,” said Hayatnagar inspector P. Venkateswaralu.
After the incident, the girl was sent back home, where she was feeling uneasy. Her parents, who are labourers in a construction site, came back in the evening and found an exhausted victim. “She told to her parents what happened in his house. When they confronted him, he ran away from the house, after which they approached us and lodged a complaint,” said the Inspector.
Police officials are not yet sure if the accused was in inebriated condition when he assaulted the victim.
Cops have booked a case against the accused under IPC section 376 for rape with criminal amendment act.
The investigation officials said that the victim is recovering in the hospital and her health condition is stable.
