Aam Aadmi Party releases manifesto, Jan Lokpal top priority

A strong lokayukta is prmised in the AAP manifesto

Hyderabad: The Aam Aadmi Party released its election manifesto focusing on issues directly affecting the common man. The manifesto talks of quality healthcare and education, utilisation of solar energy, ban on belt shops, reduction in liquor production and sales over a period of time, comprehensive police reforms and obviously, corruption.

Professor C. Ramachandraiah, advisor to the manifesto preparation committee, said, “Once the AAP takes charge, the power purchase agreements (PPAs) will be reviewed. For domestic users, for up to 300 units, roof-top solar units will be provided at 50 per cent subsidy. For consumption of above 300 units, it would be made mandatory to have solar units. Free and compulsory education would be provided to all; right from KG to Intermediate level. The AAP also believes in providing free and quality healthcare to everyone.”

The manifesto also says that once AAP comes to power, the Lokayukta will be strengthened on par with the Jan Lokpal.
