Telugu Desam supremo suspends party rebels

Despite warnings, the two leaders didn't withdraw their nominations
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday suspended two rebels who are contesting against the BJP candidates in two segments from the party.
R. Jitender Gowd (Guntakal) and Radha Durga Prasada Rao (Kadapa) have filed nominations on behalf of the TD and remained in fray as official candidates since B forms were issued to them. However, they were told to withdraw from the contest and work for the BJP candidates in the segments which were allotted to it as part of poll allaince.
Despite being told, these two leaders did not withdrew their nominations which forced Mr Naidu to suspended them from the TD and asked the party’s local cadre to extend support to the BJP nominees.
However, the TD chief has not taken an action against another party rebel B.N. Vijay Kumar who is contesting as TD candidate from Santhanutalapadu in Prakasam district which was also given to the BJP. Sources said that the BJP leadership does not want their party candidate Dara Sambaiah to be in fray as they believe that the TD candidate has more chances to win in Santhanutalapadu.
Meanwhile, Mr Naidu also suspended former MLAs Nimmaka Jayaraj (Kurupam), Kumbha Ravibabu (Araku), Kottu Satyanarayana (Tadepalligudem), Anitha Sukru (Bheemili), SVSS Varma (Pithapuram) and T.V. Rama Rao (Kovvuru) from the party as they refused to withdraw from the contest in favour of TD official candidates.
Jitender Gowd (Guntakal) and Radha Durga Prasada Rao (Kadapa) were suspended for not withdrawing from the contest despite being told by N. Chandrababu Naidu.
