Black magic can save Congress: K T Rama Rao
TRS scion K.T. Rama Rao, the Sircilla MLA, inherits the knack for the controversial from his father K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Campaigning with redoubled vigour to claim credit for the TRS for Telangana statehood, Mr Rama Rao packed quite a punch in an interview.
Q. The Congress claims it delivered statehood to Telangana.
A. Political credit can’t be brought from a supermarket. People know well we stood by them and fought alongside them and achieved Telangana.
Q. The Congress says you are an outsider in Sircilla.
A. They shouldn’t talk about outsiders. The party has allowed a foreigner to mismanage the country for 10 years. They can only hope of some black magic to win the seat Sircilla. They will win just 77 seats and according to reports I got Rahul Gandhi will lose Amethi. We will do very well in LS polls too and play a major role in forming government at the Centre.
Q. What are your plans for Sircilla?
A. I have three major plans
1. Set up a special textile zone and a mega-powerloom cluster
2. The Rs. 7,115 crore Upper Mainar lift irrigation project has already been initiated. The work will be completed within three years
3. Set up an ITI to train the youth, especially for the powerloom industry, and will launch a project for women bidi workers.
Q. If your party comes to power, can there be a repeat scenario like UP where the father steps aside for the son?
A. The party will decide who will become CM. I am content with being Sircilla MLA.
