$100 Nexus 6 could have a 64-bit processor

Google’s Nexus 6, the next flagship, will reportedly have a 64-bit processor

The rumor mill that keeps churning has brought in some more news which relates to the Nexus 6, the next flagship handset from Google.

Google has been known to introduce top hardware in its Nexus devices. However, this time, for the Nexus 6, the tech giant has been reported to cut the price massively (around $100), which means it would be implementing cheaper or mid-range hardware. Google has also been in talks with MediaTek about chipsets for the Nexus 6.

Reports from different online agencies and portals stated that Google will deploy MediaTek’s MT6732 chipset which features a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core processor. While some states that this won’t be the case, they added that the MT6752 would be involved. The MediaTek chipset features a 64-bit 2.0GHz quad-core processor. Both the chipsets sport the MALI-T760 graphics processor and support LTE.

Though it plans to incorporate the cheaper chipset in the next Nexus, Google wants to make sure that the next flagship won’t compromise on features similar to high-end models. Handsets with MediaTek chipsets, for their cheap price, are considered low-end smartphones, but a decent performance.
