After name change, Infotech elevates founder’s son as CEO
Hyderabad: India has seen many of its leaders, be it in politics or corporate world, promoting their heir apparent to the leadership roles.
Whether it was Rohan Murthy’s entry into Infosys or Rishad Premji at Wipro, Lakshmi Venu in the TVS Group, the young turks have finally taken the lead roles in the last few years.
A similar ascension was announced at Hyderabad based Infotech Enterprises, with chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy’s son Krishna Bodanapu taking over as the managing director and CEO. Mr Bodanapu doesn’t use his father’s Reddy surname. “Krishna Bodanapu has been elevated as managing director and chief executive officer.
He joined the firm in 2001 and has been president and COO for the last two years. Henceforth, he and his team will be responsible for all operations,” Mr Mohan Reddy said. With this, Mr Reddy, who founded the company, will move into the role of executive chairman, focusing on medium and long term issues that will ensure continued growth.
Meanwhile, Infotech, which changed its name to Cyient Limited effective May 7, said that it posted 15 per cent growth in its net profit for the financial year 2014 at '266 crores.
