YSRC to win 4 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, says Ummareddy
Vijayawada: The YSR Congress will win four Lok Sabha and 15 Assembly seats in Telangana region as the people remember the welfare schemes launched by Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and vote for the party, said YSRC central governing council and manifesto committee member Ummareddy Venkateswarlu on Wednesday.
Speaking at a Meet the Press programme organised at the Press Club here, Mr Venkateswarlu said the YSRC would implement the welfare schemes introduced by YSR and would give priority to development of rural and agro economy so that the state develops.
Mr Venkateswarlu also said that Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu is the first to introduce a corporate culture in politics. “Mr Naidu allotted Rajya Sabha tickets to people from the corporate world, setting aside party leaders by arguing that the party has to look after the its survival,” he said.
Describing NTR as a man of great vision who introduced the Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme for the benefit of daily wagers, Mr Venkateswarlu said that Mr Naidu has distanced the party from NTR’s ideology and policies arguing that the party has to change its priorities as per changing demands.
