Somnath Bharti and 2 AAP members were attacked by BJP supporters

Lucknow: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti and his colleagues were roughed up allegedly by BJP supporters in Varanasi on Wednesday evening while they were participating in a talk show hosted by a TV channel.
According to AAP spokesperson Prerna, the show was being held on Assi Ghat and Mr Bharti was putting forth the views of his party.
A group in the audience began shouting him down and when he did not relent, they roughed him up. “There were about 50 persons who attacked him some of them came in from the wings. Two of our workers have been injured in the incident,” the AAP spokesperson said.
The incident took place around 7.30 pm and though the police have been informed, a formal complaint is yet to be lodged.
