Jagan wants Naidu booked for cheating

Jagan thinks Naidu is making hollow promises which are impossible to implement

Guntur: YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy wants a cheating case, under Section 420, to be booked against Telugu Desam chief N.Chandrababu Naidu. He said Mr Naidu has been making hollow promises which are impossible to implement, and therefore, should be jailed for trying to cheat the people.

Addressing a public meeting at Vinukonda town, he said that the TD chief has promised one job per family without even considering the fact that there are 3.5 crore households in the state. “How will he provide a job to each family?” he asked.

“During the past 60 years, the total number of jobs created in the state is just 20 lakh, and TD chief is making big promises. This is nothing short of cheating.

During his nine-and-a-half-year rule in the state, 65 PSUs were closed down in the name of disinvestment which rendered 26,000 workers jobless,” he said.

He said Mr Naidu is promising to waive off Rs1.50 lakh crore of farm loans and DWACRA loans, while the state budget itself is only Rs1.25 lakh crore.

Jagan seeks nod to visit dehradun

YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a petition in the special CBI court at Nampally on Wednesday seeking permission to go to Dehradun in May to take a break after the hectic election campaigns.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has sought permission to go there with his family from May 10 to 15.

The court admitted the petition and posted the matter for hearing to April 28, so that the CBI may file a counter petition.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was granted bail last year by the CBI court on the condition that he will not leave Hyderabad without court’s permission.
