Asaduddin Owaisi takes on modi in poll meeting

Also criticised Sangh Pariwar for promoting Gujarat Chief Minister

Nizamabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday criticised the Sangh Pariwar for promoting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and destroying the secular fabric of the country. “BJP and RSS are trying to set up Hindu raj in the country” he said. Mr Owaisi was here to attend an election meeting. Speaking at the meeting, he said that in the 2002 riots in Gujarat, around 3,500 people were brutally killed under the rule of Mr Modi.

“How would Modi being the PM be safe for the country?” he asked. MIM chief rejected the remarks Mr Modi made during his visit to the state on Tuesday. “Modi said that they would need to take a visa to visit Hyderabad, had Sardar Vallabhbai Patel not taken the initiative to merge the princely state in Indian Union. Mr Modi should note that Hindu Raja in Jammu and Kashmir also did not show interest in joining the Indian Union in 1947,” he said. Mr Owaisi said that Mr Modi should remember that who killed Mahatma Gandhi in this country.
