A new pitch for Sreesanth
The pacer will be trying his hand at acting as well as composing music
Kochi:
Not long ago, Sreesanth had hit the headlines for his marriage with the blue-blooded Bhuvaneshwari Kumari. The spot fixing charges may have put a question mark over his cricketing career but the mercurial cricketer seems determined to bounce back to the limelight, albeit on a different pitch.
Sreesanth will be debuting as a music director by composing music for all the songs in an upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film.
“Sreesanth will be composing the songs for the bilingual film Anbukkum Azhage and I will also be a part of the project. I will be singing some of the songs composed by Sreesanth in the movie,” confirms prominent singer and Sreesanth’s brother-in-law, Madhu Balakrishnan.
Besides Madhu, some other popular Tamil and Telugu singers will also be lending their voices to Sreesanth’s compositions in the movie. The composition of the songs is expected to be completed by September and the movie will go on the floors by October.
This will mark a new beginning for the former cricketer in the music world, who is already known for his dancing skills. He was approached to compete in the popular national dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa this year. However, whether Sreesanth has committed to the competition or not is still unclear.
A big budget movie, Anbukkum Azhage will reportedly have superstars Ajith or Surya in the lead role. Sreesanth may try his hand at his long-cherished dream of acting, as he is rumored to be playing a role in the movie as well. He had previously expressed his interest in acting, saying, “I’m interested in acting. It’s cinema for me after cricket. But right now, I want to concentrate on my game and get back into the Indian team. Once I retire from active cricket, I want to act in a film.”
Even though he is no longer a part of the cricket circuit, Sreesanth is still active in the local cricket circles. He will be playing for the Cochin Music Challengers team in the upcoming championship in May.
Meanwhile, Sreesanth is continuing his legal battle to shake off the spot fixing allegations levelled against him.
