Andhra DGP warns politicos against making hate speeches
Hyderabad: DGP B. Prasada Rao on Tuesday warned politicians against making hate speeches and said that stern action would be taken against those indulging in it.
Addressing a Meet the Press organised by the AP Journalists’ Forum, Mr Rao said that Mr Modi is the target of Lashkar-e-Toiba and other terror outfits and steps were being taken to protect him during his visit to the state. He, however, added that there was no specific input about a threat to him.
Mr Rao said the police is continuously taking measures to counter Maoists in border areas and political leaders have been sensitised regarding the threat from Maoists. He added that around Rs 100 crore had been seized and money was returned when documents were shown. The DGP said 1.3 lakh policemen and 28,000 home guards have been deployed in the state. Helicopters are being used to carry troops, he said.
