Vellore: The BJP-led ‘rainbow front’ is going to be the new addition to the AIADMK-DMK competition in the state, which has been existing all these years in the state. The combination of the political parties, led by the BJP, for the LS poll will change the history of Tamil Nadu’s politics, said BJP leader L. K. Advani.
He was here in Vellore at a campaign rally on Tuesday, held in support of the BJP candidate A.C. Shanmugham of the New Justice Party.
Mr Advani said that whatever be the political situation and however many parties there were in the fray, there was direct and stiff competition between the AIADMK and DMK since the past many years in Tamil Nadu. But the with the new alliance of the combination of the political parties with BJP for this Lok Sabha election, the whole scenario would change and there would be tough competition by the BJP for both the Dravidian parties, he noted.
The result of the Lok Sabha poll would change the scenario of TN elections, held all these years, he said. As per the statement of BJP candidate Modi, the party would win with a majority of votes in all the states.
Advani said that the first Tamilian he met in Parliament was the actor Sivaji Ganesan, recalling that the only Tamil film he had watched was one in which Sivaji had acted.
The new Modi government at the Centre would address the Tamil Nadu fishermen’s issue and the issue of Lankan Tamils in, said Advani, who has been contesting the Lok Sabha elections since 1952, when the first Lok Sabha election in independent India was conducted.
