Andhra netas have concrete roots in city
Vijayawada: While people are unsure whether they can maintain a connection with Telangana and Hyderabad after the state bifurcation, politicians, who are in the fray for elections, will continue to have a connection with the new state and be privileged to have a home away from home in Hyderabad, thanks to the immovable properties owned by them.
According to affidavits submitted by them while filing nominations, most contestants have declared non-agricultural and residential properties in and around Hyderabad worth crores. Telugu Desam’s Gannavaram Assembly segment candidate Vallabhaneni Vamsi tops the list of local candidates who have properties in Telangana. Mr Vamsi and his wife Pankajakashi together own over Rs 76.95 crore worth of agriculture land in Edulanagula Palli and non-agricultural land in Ranga Reddy district respectively. Similarly, TD’s Vijayawada MP candidate Kesineni Srinivas Rao owns property worth Rs 14.5 crore in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district.
Congress Vijayawada East Assembly segment candidate D. Rajasekhar and his wife are owners of property worth Rs 13.91 crore, while Gudivada Congress candidate Atluri Subba Rao has Rs 15 crore worth property in Hyderabad. YSRC Vijayawada MP candidate Koneru Rajendra Prasad’s wife has Rs 5.56 crore worth residential property in Ranga Reddy district. Former minister and YSRC Machilipatnam MP candidate K. Partha Sarathy has three residences in Srinagar Colony amongst others amounting to Rs 1.32 crore. TD Vijayawada central candidate Bonda Umamaheswara Rao has Rs 1.66 crore worth property in RangaReddy district.
Other candidates like Congress Pedana candidate B. Veda Vyas owns properties worth Rs 3 crore, YSRC Penamaluru candidate K. Vidya Sagar (Rs 1.75 crore), YSRC Pamaru candidate U. Kalpana (Rs 2.75 crore), Congress Nuzvid candidate Ch Ramakotaiah (Rs 2.25 crore), Kaikaluru BJP candidate K. Srinivas (Rs 2.90 crore) and YSRC Jaggaiapeta candidate S. Udaya Bhanu (Rs 1.5 crore ).
Of the 54 candidates in 16 Assembly and two parliamentary seats belonging to the YSRC, TD and Congress, 31 candidates own property in the districts of Telangana.
