Narendra Modi's younger brother defends him on wife issue
Ghaziabad: Prahlad Modi, the younger brother of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, came out in support of his brother on the wife issue, saying that when Lord Buddha also left his wife, nobody at that time had asked him about why he took such a step.
Prahlad Modi had come to Pratap Vihar area of Ghaziabad on Monday to meet one of his friends and after meeting him, he left for Gujarat.
"The Lord Buddha had also married. Even after his marriage, Buddha had left his wife and child, nobody had then asked him why he left his family and didn't give rights to his wife. Why are these questions being asked to Modi," he told reporters.
Rejecting allegations of Opposition parties that Modi had become more important than the BJP, Prahlad said that he was not above the party.
"Children are children and parents are parents. BJP is like parents and Narendra bhai is like their child. For us, party is first and then Narendra bhai. Whatever he is today, it is because of the BJP," he explained.
Speaking on the Modi wave across the country, he said that "everybody knows that at present, there is a Modi wave across India. There is no doubt that Modi's wave is everywhere".
"The people of Vododara and Varanasi are with Narendra bhai and they would surely make him win with a big margin. The people of Varanasi have already decided that this time it is for the BJP and will send Narendra bhai to the Parliament as a soldier”.
Slamming Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, his CM son and brothers for getting huge security cover, Modi's brother said: "I think that when a person is doing wrong, his relatives need security cover. Narendra bhai has been working for the welfare of people in Gujarat for the last 12 years, so he (Modi) didn't do anything wrong during his tenure, so I don't need any security cover."
