Narendra Modi’s date with Telengana on April 22
Hyderabad: BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the party, besides Tollywood superstar Pawan Kalyan, will campaign from April 22 in select places in Telangana, where the party expects a good show. The tour programme is said to be tailor-made for Mr Modi and his team.
BJP, which has forged an alliance with the TD, sees strong chances of winning in Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad districts, in terms of both Assembly and Lok Sabha seats.
“Mr Modi will address four public meetings in the state on April 22. BJP national president Rajnath Singh and other senior party leaders will also campaign in phases,” said Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s decision to campaign for the BJP has been a shot-in-the-arm for the party. He will share the dais with Mr Modi and Mr Chandrababu Naidu at a public meeting to be held at Nizam College Grounds on April 22. He will also campaign in the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency and other places.
Secunderabad LS nominee and senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, along with TD leader E. Dayakar Rao, met Pawan Kalyan at the latter’s residence and requested him to campaign in Secunderabad.
Mr Modi will reach Hyderabad by a special aircraft on April 22 and immediately fly to Nizamabad to address his first rally at around 1pm. He will address public meetings at Karimnagar at 2.15 pm, Mahbubnagar at 4 pm and wind up the show with a mega-meet at Nizam College Grounds in Hyderabad at 6 pm. While Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan will accompany Mr Modi to all the four events, Mr Naidu will be present at Nizam College Grounds.
