Internal bickering in Telugu Desam party over ticket issue

Several TDP ministers have resigned after not getting party tickets

Visakhapatnam: The issues of candidate selection and seat sharing have led to internal bickering among Telugu Desam leaders in the district. Leaders, who have been denied tickets, are openly expressing their resentment.

Former minister Padala Aruna submitted her resignation to the party on Friday. She broke down before the party leaders and said the party had sidelined her and did not consider her candidature for Gajapathinagaram Assembly constituency. A newcomer, Dr K.A. Naidu has been given the party ticket for the constituency. Party activists are also unhappy about the senior leaders in the district being ignored.

Nimmaka Jayaraj, Trimurthula Raju, Gadde Baburao and many others who failed to get tickets are also expressing their disappointment. Dissatisfaction came to fore in the cases of nominees for Kurupam and Cheepurupalli constituencies as well. Kimidi Mrunalini, sister-in-law of Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao of Srikakulam, has been given ticket for Cheepurupalli, ignoring local leaders K. Trimurthulu Raju and Gadde Baburao.
