TDP-BJP alliance: Chandrababu Naidu rubs in salt, ‘steals’ 4 BJP seats

Naidu allows four party candidates to file papers in seats given to the BJP

Hyderabad: Rubbing its alliance partner’s nose further into the mud, the Telugu Desam on Saturday fielded its candidates in four Assembly seats that were alloted to the BJP.

Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu issued B-forms to party candidates to file papers in the BJP’s share of seats of Guntakal, Kaikaluru, Kadapa and Santhanutalapadu.

The development comes just three days ahead of Mr Naidu’s proposed joint campaign with BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Hyderabad on April 22. There is no confirmation of their joint campaign in Seemandhra.

“We came to know that the TD has given B-forms and allowed a few candidates to file their papers. This is not proper. We will talk to the TD leaders and see that they all withdraw in favour of our candidates,” Seemandhra BJP president K. Haribabu said.

Jitender Goud (Guntakal), Congress MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar (Santhanutalapadu), party legislator Jaya Mangala Ramana (Kaikaluru) and Durga Prasada Rao (Kadapa) on Saturday filed papers as TD candidates and submitted the B-forms.
