Bail denied for doc accused of hiring goons to kill ex-wife
Chennai: The Madras high court has denied bail to a doctor, who loved a patient and married her, but subsequently, suspecting her fidelity, divorced her and thereafter allegedly killed her by engaging hirelings in Puducherry.
Holding that there was a strong prima facie case and if the doctor was let out on bail, the possibility of his fleeing away from justice could not be ruled out, Justice P. Devadass dismissed the bail petition, filed by Dr Selvaraj, chief doctor in the government hospital in
Tindivanam, and now under suspension. “Very serious allegations have been made. Investigation is going on and there will be a danger of his interfering with the investigation also. In these circumstances, I am not inclined to grant bail to him,” the judge added.
