Hyderabad: Hate groups against all big leaders in the state have cropped up on social networking sites spewing venom against them.
Though political parties and leaders have been using the social networking sites to grab the attention of voters, these are also being used by party activists to spread negative propaganda against rival politicos.
While earlier hate groups were confined to local actors, now politicos like KCR, Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also have hate page on social networking sites.
“Show your support against corruption by liking this page,” states a hate page against Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. A hate page for Mr Naidu states that he has looted people and invites voters to shun him.
And the posts and few of the page admins’, who have identified themselves, clearly hint at political parties playing the hate game on social networks. There are more than 10 groups proclaiming hatred for Mr Naidu while five different groups are spreading hatred against Mr Reddy and an equal number of groups against KCR.
While in most cases the “group admins” have not identified themselves, in one or two cases they have left behind some hints, like Ramu Reddy Mudiyala, who has named the TD in the ‘studied in’ option.
The self-confessed TD activist is behind the Facebook group “We Hate YSR Family (JAGAN MOHAN REDDY) and his Supporters”. In fact, most of the comments on these hate group pages also suggest voting for the leaders’ of rival parties.
