Congress lures voters in Telengana and Seemandhra
Hyderabad: Union minister Jairam Ramesh said that the Polavaram project will benefit the new states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He said the Union Cabinet will approve the creation of the Polavaram Development Authority that executes the Polavaram project next week. Mr Jairam Ramesh and PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, manifesto committee chairman Anam Ramnarayan Reddy and PCC campaign committee chairman Chiranjeevi released the manifesto at Indira Bhavan on Friday.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Mr Ramesh said that the Polavaram project will generate over 900 MW of power and transfer about 80 tmc ft water from Godavari to Krishna to help Telangana farmers.
He said the manifesto of APCC is an agenda that is practicable and implementable. “The manifesto shows how the vision of the Congress is different from Telugu Desam and YSRC,” he said.
Mr Ramnarayan Reddy said his panel drew up a 10-point plan to make residuary AP into “Navyandhra Pradesh”.
