Hyderabad: The results of JEE (Main) will be announced on May 3. The offline exam was held on April 6 across the country, while the online mode of exam, which started on April 9, will end on April 19.
The online registration for JEE (Advanced) will begin from May 4. Only those students who figure in the top-1.5 lakh rankers’ list of JEE (Main) will be allowed to apply for JEE (Advanced) for admission to the IITs. They also need to figure in top 20 percentile list in the 10+2 Board exams to be eligible for the final admission to the IITs.
Eligible students will be given only five days to register for JEE (Advanced). The due date to register will end on May 9.
The rank scored in JEE (Main) will be valid for a period of two years. This means that a candidate in the top 1.5 lakh list of JEE (Main) this year can appear for JEE (Advanced) either this year or next year.
JEE (Advanced) is scheduled to be held on May 25 and the results will be declared on June 19.
At the time of registration, candidates are required to submit the scanned copies of date-of-birth, Class X certificate, their signature in JPEG format, passport-size photograph in JPEG format, choice of language for question paper, choice of examination city/ town, category/ sub-category certificate if applicable, year of first attempt in JEE (Advanced), if applicable.
Nearly 80 students from the state had missed IIT seats this year even after performing better in JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced), after they failed to figure in top-20 percentile cut-off, which was highest in the country at 91.8 per cent.
The cut-off for AP students to figure in top-20 percentile list last year was 91.8 per cent, the highest in the country. AP was followed by Tamil Nadu, at 90.9 per cent and Kerala 85.2 per cent. l The CBSE’s cut-off was 81.6 per cent, ICSE (83.2), UP (73), Bihar (65) and West Bengal (61.2).
