Hyderabad: Thousands of faithful Christians from the twin cities, observed Good Friday by remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Syrian Catholics took out a procession in Secunderabad mourning the death of Christ. While some churches began the observance early on Thursday evening, most others conducted special prayer sessions on Friday morning.
“Good Friday and Holy Saturday (April 19) mark the end of the 40-day Lent season. On Good Friday, the faithful mourn the sacrifice of Christ.
Several people observe fast and also offer special prayers. The Passion of Christ (an enactment of Christ’s struggle) is performed at every church.
Throughout the day, prayer services continue and towards the evening, most of the churches conduct the Adoration.”
