TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao woos Warangal with sops
KCR went on a sops-announcement spree for Warangal

Warangal: In what could be a sign of growing importance of Warangal in the separate Telangana state, TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao went on a sops-announcement spree for the district before a crowded audience at Madikonda on Thursday evening.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao promised to set up an industrial corridor on the Hyderabad-Warangal route, pump life into the textile industry by establishing a textile mill 20 times bigger than the Nizam-era Azam Zahil Mills and a ring road to decongest the city traffic with Rs 100 crore.
In the event of TRS’ contestants D. Vinay Bhaskar and Konda Surekha getting elected, he promised to put in place an underground drainage system for the city in three-month time. If TRS comes to power, he also promised to make the city on par with Hyderabad.
He also took potshots at Congress senior leaders. “It is shameful that Saraiah could not get an underground drainage system for the city while Ponnala failed to complete the Devadula works despite being the major irrigation minister for six years,” he said.
