Muraleedharan alleges CPM, BJP traded votes

Congress MLA alleged here that many votes were ‘sold off’ to the BJP by the CPM
Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MLA K Muraleedharan has said that CPM politburo member and Kollam LDF candidate M.A. Baby had levelled allegations against the Congress to cover up the ‘trading’ of votes between the BJP and the CPM. He alleged here that many votes were ‘sold off’ to the BJP by the CPM.
“As a quid pro quo, in certain non prospective seats, the BJP had helped the CPM. Kollam was one of the constituencies where Baby would have got the benefit,” said Mr Muraleedharan.
Incidentally, he had told DC on Sunday that in his constituency, Vattiyoorkavu, 10,000 votes of the CPM were given to BJP candidate O. Rajagopal. But he had stated that until the results were announced, he couldn’t say whether the voters had disapproved of the candidature of LDF’s Dr. Bennet Abraham or whether there were any other reasons involved.
CPI secretary Pannyan Raveendran refuted Mr Muraleedharan’s charge saying that it was not based on real facts
